Areas of Practice

I have a general psychotherapy practice and accept clients aged 18 or older. People come to see me for a variety of reasons. Among the most common are: Depression - depressed mood
- feeling sad or empty
- tearfulness, crying
- loss of interest or pleasure in previously enjoyed activities
- difficulty sleeping or sleeping too much
- agitation or irritability
- fatigue or loss of energy
- change in appetite
- feelings of worthlessness or guilt
- poor concentration/ difficulty making decisions
- thoughts about death or suicide
Anxiety and Anxiety Disorders - restlessness or feeling on edge
- inability to relax or “be in the moment”
- nervousness
- irritability
- difficulty concentrating
- trouble sleeping
- constant worrying
- obsessive or intrusive (unwanted) thoughts
- panic attacks
- physical symptoms such as muscle tension, sweating, heart racing, dizziness
Family of Origin Issues - history of sexual or physical abuse
- neglect
- substance abuse
- domestic violence
- abandonment and loss
- parent or family member with a mental illness
- continued difficulties in relationships with parents and siblings (these often affect romantic relationships, friendships, and work relationships as well)
Serious and Persistent Mental Illness - Schizophrenia
- Bipolar Disorder
- Individuals with a family member who has a serious or persistent mental illness
Safe Space

Our practice is considered a "Safe Space" working to affirm and support individuals and families of all sexual orientations (including Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning), and religious, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
